International Ombudsman Institute (IOI)
Established in 1978, the International Ombudsman Institute (IOI) is an organization with a global scope of intervention aimed at the strengthening of the cooperation between Ombudsmen.
Its members include not only the Ombudsmen (institutional members), but also other organizations or agencies that, despite not having that nature, are interested or involved in related activities (associate members). The IOI is divided in six regions – including Europe –, in which the Portuguese Ombudsman takes part.
