Sofia Duarte

Sofia Duarte has a law degree in Legal and Political Sciences (2008) from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon. She completed a master’s degree in European Union Law (2009) and a postgraduate degree in Corporate Governance, Compliance and Public Supervision (2022) from the same Faculty, as well as a postgraduate degree in Banking, Stock Exchange and Insurance Law (2018) from the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra. Among other positions, she was a member of staff at Barclays Bank PLC (2008-2013), a senior technician in the Legal Consultancy Office and the Dispute Resolution Arbitration Centre of the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon (2015-2016), a senior technician in the Behavioural Supervision Department of the Bank of Portugal, with responsibilities in the legal and international areas (2016-2019), and a specialist technician in the Offices of the Secretaries of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the XXII and XXIII Constitutional Governments (2019-2024).
