Response from the Government to Recommendation no. 1/B/2023 (Teachers’ mobility due to illness)

The Ombudsman received a response to Recommendation no. 1/B/2023, addressed to the Government on 23 March, in relation to the regime of protection and mobility in the event of illness of teaching staff.

In relation to the aspects to be reviewed in the regime that currently regulates this mobility competition, the Government informs that the evaluation of its application will be made, as planned, at the end of the 2023/2024 school year.

It was also transmitted that the Government is studying solutions with a view to approving a specific regime in the area of health protection, that promotes “the adjustment of teachers’ working conditions to the limitations resulting from illness situations”, with implementation foreseen only for the 2024/2025 school year.

With regard to the other recommendations, no conclusive response was provided.
