“Attacks on the defenders of the people and states of exception” at the 1st FIO- RINDHCA Virtual Congress

The first virtual congress organised by the Ibero-American Federation of Ombudsmen (FIO) and the Network of National Human Rights Institutions of the American Continent (RINDHCA) will take place on 15 and 16 December 2020, focusing on the pressures and aggressions that some of these institutions have suffered in the framework of the OVID-19 pandemic and the rights restrictions imposed.

The Ombudsman, Maria Lúcia Amaral, participates in the session on states of exception alongside her counterpart from Spain, Colombia and the UN Special Rapporteur on Economic, Social, Cultural and Environmental Rights. The session will take place on the 16th and will be opened by Professor Guillermo Escobar Roca of the University of Alcalá.
