Deputy Ombusdman at GANHRI’s annual meeting focusing on migrant rights
Representatives of National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs) from all regions of the world are meeting in Geneva for the annual meeting of the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI).
The meeting, which will take place from 4 to 7 March, will focus on the role of NHRIs in the review of the Global Compact for Safe, Ordained and Regular Migration, which is seen as a historic opportunity to ensure a governance of migratory flows anchored respect for human rights.
The conference is organized by GANHRI in cooperation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).
Representing Portugal is Ombusdman Deputy Teresa Anjinho. In our country, the Ombudsman is also the National Human Rights Institution.
