Office of the Ombudsman participates in the preparation of the 14th International Conference of the GANHRI 

The Deputy Ombudsman, Ravi Afonso Pereira, the Coordinator of the National Preventive Mechanism (NPM), Miguel Feldmann, Cristina Sá Costa (International Relations Officer) and Duarte Geraldes (Adviser), participated, by telematic means, in a bilateral meeting promoted by the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI), on 9 March 2023.

The meeting was held as part of the preparations for the 14th International Conference for National Human Rights Institutions, dedicated to the theme: “Torture and other ill-treatment: The Role of National Human Rights Institutions” and aimed to make known the work of the Ombudsman in combating and preventing torture in Portugal, sharing the experience of the Ombudsman’s Office and the NPM in these matters.

The 14th International Conference for National Human Rights Institutions, to be held in Copenhagen from 6 to 8 November 2003, will be organised by GANHRI, the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Ukrainian Parliament and the Danish Institute for Human Rights, in cooperation with the UN Human Rights Office.
