The Ombudsman, Maria Lúcia Amaral, participated, on 27 February 2023, in the Opening Session of the Post-Graduate E-Learning Course on “Gender Policy: Equality and Non-Discrimination”, promoted by the Academy of Sciences in partnership with the University of Évora under the UNESCO Chair in Education and Science for Development and Human Well-Being (EDUWELL).
The EDUWELL Chair is the result of a partnership between several Portuguese Higher Education Institutions, in association with institutions from Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, São Tomé and Príncipe and East Timor, aiming at tackling technological, educational and scientific knowledge inequalities. This Chair, promoted by UNESCO in the areas of Education and Science, aims to contribute to the development of a society based on education, through the creation of scholarships, post-graduate programmes, short-term training courses and incentives for research and the development of its institutions, as a means of networking to promote learning, knowledge transfer, the creation of opportunities and scientific debate among the various partner entities.
