João Tornada
Specialist
João Tornada holds a Master’s degree (2019) and a Bachelor’s degree in Law (2015) from the Faculty of Law of the Portuguese Catholic University – Lisbon. He is currently a visiting assistant and doctoral candidate at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, where he has been teaching since 2022, in the areas of Constitutional Law (Fundamental Rights, Constitutional Justice) and European Union Law. He is also an integrated researcher assistant at the Public Law Research Centre (CIDP-LPL) and member of the Lisbon Digital Rights and Freedoms at FDUL. He was a lawyer at PLMJ Advogados (2016-2018), CCA Law Firm (2018-2019) and VdA – Vieira de Almeida & Sociedade Advogados (2019-2022), in the areas of Public Law, Civil Law and Arbitration and Chairman of the Disciplinary Board of the Portuguese Fencing Federation (2022-2023). He is the author of several publications in scientific journals and collective works, as well as a monograph entitled “The modification of unconstitutional law – Study on decisions of partial unconstitutionality (with a preface by Jorge Miranda)”, published in Almedina, 2021.
