Mariana Melo Egídio
Adviser to the Cabinet
Mariana Melo Egídio has a degree in Law, with a specialisation in Legal and Political Sciences, from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon (2009), and is a Guest Lecturer and PhD student at the same institution. Her main research interests are in the areas of Constitutional Law, Fundamental Rights, Constitutional Justice, Administrative Law, Data Protection, Access to Information and Legal Drafting. She is also an associate researcher at the Lisbon Public Law Research Centre. Among other roles, she was Legal Advisor to the Prime Minister’s Office of the 21st Constitutional Government (2016-2019) and Senior Advisor to the State Legal Competences Centre (2022-2024). She was also an alternate member of the CADA – Commission for Access to Administrative Documentation (2023-2025). She was Secretary-General of the Institute of Legal and Political Sciences of the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon (2014-2017) and a member of the Board of Directors (since 2024). She is the author of several publications in scientific journals and collective works in her areas of research, as well as a speaker at conferences and training courses in the same areas.
